چکیده

The term of a “process” is used in Software Engineering (SE) theories and practices in many different ways, which cause confusion. In this paper we give a more formal description a Process-Ontological Model which can be used to analyze some problematic nature of software engineering. Firstly we present a process ontology in which everything is in a process. There are two kinds of processes: “eternal” and actual, where actual processes are divided into physical and mental processes. Secondly, we propose a topological model T for actual processes. Thirdly we propose an algebraic model for eternal processes, i.e. concepts. Lastly, by using category theory we connect these two models of processes together in order to get a category theoretical description of the Process-Ontological Model. That model is a functor category C, i.e. the category of presheaves of concepts on T.

Developing Reliable yet Flexible Software through If-Then Model Transformation Rules

Developing reliable yet flexible software is a hard problem. Although modeling methods enjoy a lot of advantages, the exclusive use of just one of them, in many cases, may not guarantee the development of reliable and flexible software. Formal modeling methods ensure reliability because they use a rigorous approach to software development. However, lack of knowledge and high cost practically fo...

Events and Activities: Is there an Ontology behind BPMN?

In the context of business process modelling, the Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is a de-facto standard with more than 70 commercial tools that currently support its use. Amongst its main modelling constructs, BPMN includes activities and events. However, the focus of the standard is on providing an intuitive graphical language, rather than formal semantics specifications. This resu...

Hammerstein-Wiener Model: A New Approach to the Estimation of Formal Neural Information

A new approach is introduced to estimate the formal information of neurons. Formal Information, mainly discusses about the aspects of the response that is related to the stimulus. Estimation is based on introducing a mathematical nonlinear model with Hammerstein-Wiener system estimator. This method of system identification consists of three blocks to completely describe the nonlinearity of inp...

Modelling Customer Relationships in E-business

The goal of this paper is to provide an ontological approach to modelling customer relationships, which helps managers optimize channels, improve customer acquisition, retention and add-on selling. The advantages of a systematic approach are multiple. Modelling and mapping customer relationships allows a better understanding of the way a company interacts with its customers. A formal descriptio...
